Information

Before you start
Print out the Scrapbook template. This exercise assumes you’ve completed a brainstorming session, during which you collected ideas on Post-it notes – one idea per Post-it, ideally described with a visual as well as text.
While brainstorming is all about letting your imagination run wild, it’s now time to narrow your focus. The following steps will help you eliminate options, evaluate pros and cons and ultimately make a final decision.
STEP 1
Provide the group with the template, which is divided into 6 spaces for Post-it notes. Give the group 5 minutes to choose their 6 favorite ideas from the brainstorming session. Once the selections have been made, stick them onto the template.STEP 2
Now that you’ve narrowed the pool, it’s time to tighten the competition even more. Use the six ideas stuck onto the template as the starting point for a group discussion. What are the pros and cons of each idea? Which ones best meet the users’ needs? What’s more important in this context, an ingenious idea, or one that’s quick to implement? Keep narrowing down the choices until one final idea remains on the template. Here you have the winner!
